Matthew Carney

Senior Director, Green Banks & Resilience Finance

Matthew is committed to changing how our economic system values environmental outcomes. He began his career in consulting and market research before returning to graduate school to pursue a dual degree in business and environmental policy. During this program, Matthew worked with a startup in Kathmandu to launch a new solar-powered irrigation product for rural farmers, partnered with the UN in Samoa to identify sustainable job opportunities for unemployed youth, and consulted for the National Park Service to help the Appalachian Trail optimize its permit operations.

At Quantified Ventures, Matthew's primary focus is on leveraging forestry and land use conservation practices to simultaneously promote economic activity and support environmental justice. 

On his own time, you're most likely to find Matthew obsessively watching European soccer (primarily Juventus), exploring one of DC's various museums, or visiting family back in his hometown of Chicago.
