Christopher Wolff

Associate Director & Watershed Coordinator, Colorado River Basin

Chris is a water scientist and resources sustainability pioneer with over 15 years of experience “hydrologizing” throughout the Western United States. His mission is to disrupt the status quo when it comes to water management and climate resiliency in the Colorado River Basin.

Whether developing green infrastructure strategies to safeguard beaches in San Diego, restoring wetlands in Texas, improving river flows in the Colorado River headwaters, protecting groundwater resources in New Mexico, or collaborating with local communities to sustain streamflow in Arizona, Chris’ catalytic career emphasizes innovative, on-the-ground solutions that tackle a variety of water resource and climate change challenges.

At QV, Chris continues to build cooperative coalitions and promotes partner-oriented projects that make our ecosystems and communities more resilient. Chris focuses his efforts on accelerating innovative ventures and believes we need new ideas and advanced approaches to spur real change. Chris enjoys cultivating relationships across social, governmental, and economic boundaries. And when he is not working with partners to protect the Colorado River Basin, Chris is outside.

Chris is a mountain climbing, whitewater rafting, trail running, arctic exploring, alpine skiing, adventurer who enjoys spending time with friends, colleagues, and even strangers (who inevitably become lifelong friends).
