DOUG SPENCER, marketing and impact investing intern

Doug is our first ever marketing and impact investing intern. Self-motivated and entrepreneurial, Doug has hit the ground running, developing content strategies and keeping our messages thriving on social channels. Inspired by his mom, Nelson Mandela, and Jeff Bezos, giving back is important to Doug. He was drawn to the mission of Quantified Ventures—and loves the challenge of tackling complex issues for the greater good.

Doug is a loyal alum of Elon University, where he earned a BBA with a minor in leadership studies in 2016 and the following year was asked to serve a two-year term as a youth trustee on their Board of Trustees.

Before Quantified Ventures, Doug worked on the marketing team of CenturyLink, managing event and sponsorship activity for the company’s federal solutions group. He also provided analysis for the group’s go-to-market strategies, aimed at modernizing government IT infrastructure. Before CenturyLink, Doug completed a three-month internship at WilmerHale through the Sponsors for Educational Opportunity Law program, a prestigious program for law students of traditionally underrepresented groups. In his role there, he primarily supported research and writing initiatives within WilmerHale’s International Arbitration practice.

For fun, Doug cheers on the Wizards and other D.C. sports teams, hangs out with friends, and vows to get back to playing the saxophone.
