Carolyn Dupont, director
Since her undergraduate studies focused on ecotourism and sustainable forestry, Carolyn has been fascinated by the intersection of the private sector and natural resource management. After working in consulting for several years, Carolyn returned home to Boston for graduate school where she studied the emergence of green bonds and resilience finance. “The job I was looking for out of grad school working on these issues didn’t exist at the time,” she said. That is, until she found Quantified Ventures.
When she learned about Quantified Ventures’ work with DC Water, she wanted in on pioneering innovative and scalable finance for solving environmental challenges. Excited to be a part of a small and dynamic team, she came on board to manage the environmental vertical.
Prior to Quantified Ventures, Carolyn served on the investments team at Massachusetts Clean Energy Center, making early-stage debt and equity investments in clean energy and water companies. Previously, she worked in San Francisco as a manager for the geopolitical strategy consulting firm Monitor 360, part of the Monitor Group. Before Monitor, Carolyn worked in executive search and recruiting for environmentally-oriented companies, social enterprises, and foundations.
In graduate school, Carolyn led research on green bonds and land conservation, as well as strategies for financing climate resilience investments. She worked with Encourage Capital on green infrastructure investments across U.S. cities and with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. Carolyn serves on the board of the Trust for Public Land in Massachusetts.
Carolyn holds an MBA from MIT Sloan School of Management, an MPA from the Harvard University Kennedy School of Government, and a BA in Anthropology from Stanford University.
Since spending a summer in Alaska on a National Outdoor Leadership School course, Carolyn has volunteered in outdoor education and still spends as much time as she can getting outside with her family — hiking, backpacking, and skiing in her home region of New England.
